"in my country the covid pandemic has been over since at least two years"

The thing about nutomic that people don't know unless they've been on lemmy since the very early days (including during the "height" of the pandemic, when governments still sort of took it seriously and they were only starting to roll out vaccines), is that he hung out in the anti-vax covid denial community that got purged (he tried to prevent its purge as "free speech.") He also defended transphobes, and argued on behalf of staying federated with the literal fascist exploding-heads instance. A couple years ago he also went hard to bat to defend the admins of exploding-heads and their right to maintain accounts on his instance because they were good coders who contributed to the lemmy project, and also he thought attacking them was a witch hunt.

A few months ago he also came to the defense of a Lemmy moderator who was defending nude drawings of kids. When people called him out on it, he not only doubled down, but even came to the_dunk_tank to play some disgusting game of semantics where he argued that such content can't be considered abusive. While Dessalines got rid of that moderator, Nutomic came away unscathed, yet again. I know that people tend to respect Dessalines because of the work he's put into the platform, but it reflects really badly on him if he's willing to look the other way while his friend keeps spouting reactionary bullshit.
