Dune is really most obvious message of "do not trust the prophets, tyrants, monarchs" but a lot of people don't get it and idolize figures like Leto or Muad'dib or Leto II. I mean, they are even named "Atreides" that had to be thickest hint ever. Even Frank Herbert himself was annoyed by them.
How is Dune like scripture to these people? I don't get it.
