Honestly I don't know or care about this case beyond shallowly scanning a couple articles but it seems they only really punished cuz it was white(collar)-on-white(collar) crime. Unlike the bankers and real estate ghouls who ruined huge masses of regular working people by 2008, who Obama and the democrats protected and effectively rewarded them for doing so, this is practically a victimless crime. What real person got hurt here? Other rich crypto douchebags and other hedge funds and corporations of finance capital parasites? who cares
They all deserve the same fate and they wanna clutch their pearls. I guess this guy used some of that scammed money for campaign finance for his democrat wife which is part of the charge, but meanwhile we have Nancy goddamn Pelosi doing blatant insider trading her entire career all the time with her husband.
