Long story short he needed to use my computer today for his IRA bullshit, something about it being moved from one account to another. ofc he's a stone age boomer so he has no account and it's the weekend so the customer service line is closed. So we tried to get into this arcane system of bullshit and make an account for him so he could access it and it didn't work. Long story short he lost his shit and unloaded on me over it. I had to keep apologizing like it was my fault then he stormed out.

And the kicker is I was going to ask him for a ride to the pharmacy tomorrow to get my meds and now I'm afraid to do so.

Fucking everything is my fault when it comes to him and he's perfect.

I also don't want you to be homeless. Although by certain more broad (and I think more accurate) definitions of being unhoused, you might count. If you're stuck with an abuser because of a disability or financial situation that should, and sometimes does, count as being unhoused.

I wonder if that could count me into getting some kind of financial help thinkin-lenin was thinking again about applying for SNAP but I was putting it off because I don't want the disappointment of getting denied again.

Depends on where you live. I know in chicago there are definitely orgs that would help but we're, despite a lot of bad, fairly progressive with stuff like this. Also with stuff like SNAP you gotta apply every month for as many months as it takes. That's unfortunately how it works. It sucks and it is absolutely designed to be hard to use

That's what happened to me the last time. I got denied because I live at home, and it's like what do I need to be literally homeless and destitute to qualify for a meek $200 every month in groceries?

You can apply as a separate household living within the same living space. As long as you don't pool resources(meaning buy and prepare food together), your household is one person. Of course they have no way to tell what you're doing.

The only tricky bit is you need to fill out a shared housing form that details the relationship between you and whoever lives there with you if you're not on the lease.
