put all of your election posting here so it doesn't bother anyone else!

from @CoolerOpposide@hexbear.net:

For Agitprop purposes, I’m asking comrades to help aggregate any and all effortpost responses, critiques, or general thoughts that you have seen or written pertaining to yesterday’s U.S. election that you think have standalone value for discussion either online or IRL.

I made a post for that purpose here, and ideally it can be used not only for general discussion, but as a reference for well thought out responses in discussions about the election to save all of us some brainpower.

No shitposts please, as we’d like to highlight some comrades’ actual effort in constructing responses or analysis, but humor is 100% welcome to help make your point!

The only chart you need to explain this election:

    Show

Neoliberals can shout about how good the economy is all they want. A lot of people had more money in their bank account than they ever had before in 2020, and it went away under Biden. It's impossible to beat that feeling of having less of your paycheck in the bank by shouting about threat to democracy. I would argue this is why Trump is doing so much better among minorities than a lot of white, college-educated radlibs would expect.

Biden stiffed people on a check and immediately took away social supports gained in the pandemic to try and force people back to work. Pretty cool.

I've been saying for months now that Democrats are having a poor campaign with minority groups, and that their rhetoric is particularly alienating towards non white men. It's an observable effect I've seen in their campaign.

That platform they release for black men was just straight up racist, and it would have been said openly if it had been Trump's platform for black men.

Even before that, Democrats (especially Harris during the debate) were basically calling Latino men a bunch of criminals who bring in drugs (especially fentanyl) and crime over the border, even though statistics showed the vast majority of fentanyl was brought into the country by US citizens. Then there's Harris herself, who made a career out of prosecuting non white men in the racist US justice system. Literally referred to as California's top cop.

I mean sure, but Trump isn't any better of than front than her. I really think that a lot of this just comes down to people thinking about the money they had in their bank accounts under Trump versus what they have now under Biden, and Harris refusing to offer pretty much anything to materially benefit those people.

Yeah running a cop, and hte coppest of cops, four years after the uprising was a choice. It didn't seem like online libs cared, but it looks like online libs don't matter when it comes to winning elections.

Oh there is a lot of data you can point to saying Biden either did nothing or made it worse. I like this site so here

One of the most interesting, the Q1 2021-Q4 2022 ramp is the same pace as pre-2008. https://tradingeconomics.com/united-states/debt-balance-total

Literaly zero full time employment growth since 2020. https://tradingeconomics.com/united-states/full-time-employment

Home ownership down since 2006 and up during Trump then stagnant since 2020/Biden https://tradingeconomics.com/united-states/home-ownership-rate

There is more on MR's post https://thenextrecession.wordpress.com/2024/11/02/the-us-presidential-election-part-one-the-economy/

ANd then you've got the Democrats pigheadedly yelling at you that the economy is doing great while your grocery bill has doubled. It's... it's not good strategy.
