    I'm pessimistic these grifters will win in the end. The only thing that still makes people push back is the negative connotation, its like NFTs only being the sign of a loser and a grifter.

    But this is not the first time and this reminds me of the indie asset flip boom of the last decade. 10 years ago btw

    If you remember Unity pretty much became associated with crap made by either students or grifters. But rather than a meaningful change or significantly lasting backlash what actualy happened in the end is Unity got a sizeable(majority at some point?) part of the market anyway and I doubt most people even remember or care your making a Unity game anymore.

    Its true indie games are also of far higher quality too which is kind of the point. As long as Gamers get their slop and there are enough significant outliers to redeem the industry than all sins will be pushed under the carpet.

    You can see some companies are already using it, e.g Paradox already started with their "we only use ethical AI" cop out. I expect this to become the norm rather than a general rejection.
