This is such a modern Sonic Fandom thing, but it's years before the Sonic fandom got weird in a self aware way.

Still, it is incredibly fun to play if you have drinks and friends who can make fun of it. The writing is bad in all the best ways possible. link
That game gets a lot of flak but gameplay wise it was a banger. It's like they decided to make an entire game out of just the good parts from Sonic Adventure.
Unfortunately, the best gameplay is locked behind getting A rank on every mission, some of which are some of the worst in the history of Sonic.
