The people getting pissed off spent over a year of this genocide not caring because they could insulate themselves from the violence; they craved plausible deniability; let it be taken from them. Pleading with them for over a year, providing them with stats, the testimonies of international organizations, the words of South Africa which had a deep knowledge of apartheid, the result of the ICJ, and even the photos and videos did nothing; this method won't lose people who frankly already didn't care.
That's exactly it. And it might just wake up some of those who have been scared/conditioned into silence to at least think about it. I don't think it'll meaningfully change anything, no, but then again, if they didn't care already, one QR code won't change anything either.
They're liberals forcing them to confront the barbarity of their beliefs will unfortunately just make them side with the fascists and agree were the problem.
