He does excrete the essence, but that could apply to low level demons who have commuted with the Committee, as members of it typically excrete large amounts of essence and so even a single communing could leave a servant/low level demon with enough of it for it to be detectable on modern radars. I think that's a bit of a stretch, after all if he is a servant troll/low level demon how could he commune with the Committee? Still, he partakes in such green behaviour, behaviour which no member of the committee would be allowed to do without being cast away in to the depths.
