I think it's yeah. Matrix is the protocol and there are a lot of different clients with Element being the most mature. Try it out before getting your parents to use it.

No; they're all referring to mobilecoin. People are calling it moxiecoin because the creator of Signal, Moxie, was involved in the creation of mobilecoin.
