I personally think the fervent love for Bloodborne is because it was a breath of fresh air after three souls games that were very samey, and because it was after DS2. It's good, but it's no Sekiro.

Bloodborne needed to be made so that we could get Sekiro. I think its real strength and staying power comes from its setting, though - there's not been much else that can compare to its gothic/cosmic horror

I love the game, but I do relate to your feelings on the blood vial system. Dark Souls 1 had such a perfect healing system with estus, I have no idea why they make you grind for vials in BB. Idk if you know this already (I didn't realize until about 2/3 of the way through the game), but you can buy them in the hunter's dream hub with blood echoes, which is a little easier than grinding for them to drop from enemies (although you still need echoes to purchase them)

I kinda feel what you mean

I beat DS3 and Sekiro before I tried Bloodborne. It all feels too familiar and I can see why people hold it to such high regard considering when it released.

However I’m beating these bosses in 3-4 tries which is sort of taking away the fun out of the game. Even though I play these games very casually, it feels like I have a beat on FromSoftware games and now nothing is intimidating or cruel. It is starting to get annoying if I’m being honest.

Love the music, armor and environments though.
