This is a baby blue heron, and that's not actually me holding it.

I remember when I was into dinosaurs as a kid, there seemed to be considerable debate over the extent to which they resembled modern avians (warm-blooded, feathered). But just look at how saurian baby birdos are! Makes you wonder if ontogeny recapitulates phylogeny after all.
