So recently Windows 10 updated, automatically re-enabled One Drive, and made a huge mess for me to clean up. It was infuriating & wasted hours of my time.
I use a lot of art programs & play a lot of games, so I want to keep WIN 10 around for that, but I'd like to duel Boot for blender, office work, and game emulation.
Any recs for a Linux OS that isn't too overwhelming for a kinda tech savvy artist?
Ubuntu / Mint etc are hard to beat for simplicity out of the box, but of course then you can't post "I use Arch" all the time, so there's a con I guess
Anything based on Ubuntu (or Ubuntu itself) is good, I would heavily recommend PopOS for beginners.
how's the battery life with pop? i'm currently on ubuntu and my battery sucks :(
Not very good, but I don't think switching distros will help much with the battery consumption in general, some distros might have the slight edge over others due to using less resource intensive Desktop Environments or having less bloat in general, but I can't imagine you could get anything truly meaningful, sorry
one reccomendation, partition your drive in windows and not in the installer, will save trouble.
aside from that, depends on your desires, personally ive been using debian, it works nicely for me.
as for blender, that is FOSS and is on linux(it was on linux before windows), office work can be replaced with libreoffice mostly and as for games, check what you play on protondb.com for compatability

Basically, start with Ubuntu. If you want an extremely simple desktop UI in the vein of iOS, ChromeOS, etc. use GNOME, if you want a desktop that's more feature-rich and similar to Windows use KDE.
personally, I have arch/win10 setup and it works fine. You could try manjaro, it's a less sweaty version of arch. But any other distro should also be fine in my experience
manjaro is still sweaty as any other rolling release. Idk it can break. And i personally wouldnt reccomend for newbies.
