There's also the important distinction to note that hornyposting about men doesn't have the same connotations here or anywhere else on the internet as it does for women. Hornyposting about men outside of spaces specifically intended for it is done tongue-in-cheek, a manner that even people who aren't attracted to men can partake in as part of goofing around. Compared to women, who have to deal with objectifying sexualization and harassment by men at veritably every corner, thirsting over men whether serious or not lacks the power to distress and intimidate said men because it doesn't play into the patriarchal power dynamics of our society; in fact men are more likely to regard it favorably because they exist on the opposite end of the attention spectrum from women. So while objectifying-sexualizing anyone is bad, there's context to consider about why we have to clamp down on it when targeted at women in order to create a safe environment for them here.
