It's a J. Stevens 16 gauge single shotgun. My grandmother gave it to me and said it was my grandfather's grandfather's.

I couldn't find any serial numbers on it, but it has the number 21 stamped into it

    If you never find out any real information then you are obligated to make up lore about it like a legendary weapon in Fallout

    I'd call it Blackjack based on the 21 but it's up to you

      That's legit! I'm pretty sure my grandpa got a deer with it when he was a teen, but he wasn't much of a hunter, so that was probably it.

      I'll come up with some good shit. I'm ready to go try it out soon!

    16 ga. is fairly uncommon these days, great great grandfather leads me to think late 19th century? If you can find any stamps or markings, those would all be helpful for identification.

    Probably don't shoot it.
