    US government remnant

What little land is still controlled is reorganized into 4 states and military enclaves, de jure controlled by the states, but de facto under military occupation. The Democrats and Republicans remain, but the Democrats maintain an almost supermajority in government. It recognizes none of the new states and lost its permanent security seat as the NEF, which controls NYC, refused to allow any sessions in the building until it was recognized as the new permanent security member, which is why the other states were allowed into the UN. It currently funds a network of unionist parties, which advocate the reunion of parties to the government.

    American Confederal Republic

This is an extremely racist state, essentially reimplementing segregation and forming a cult of personality around Trump. It’s a dominant party system with the Confederal Party holding a supermajority, and the Unionist Party holding only some seats due to extreme gerrymandering.

    Pacific Worker’s Republic

This is one of the 4 socialist countries, and one of the 3 that are explicitly socialist. It is a multiparty democracy with competitive elections, following a system of 87 2-member districts. However, there are two caveats. The first is that only center left to far left parties are allowed, with the furthest right party being the Social Democratic Party of the Pacific, with the dominant one being the PSL, and the unionist party is banned. The second is that the general public only elects half of the legislature, the other half is put forward by 6 mass organizations for women, unions, black people, gay people, Latinos, and native Americans, which are functionally PSL fronts. This means that even if an opposition party gained every elected seat, they couldn’t change the constitution which sets the nation towards socialism. It has 2 autonomous areas, the Navajo state and Deseret. It has close relations to the SRNA and the SUGL

Syndicalist Union of the Great Lakes

An anarcho syndicalist commune spanning a vast amount of territory, and the another one of the explicitly socialist party. De jute there is no legislature, judicial, or executive power. However the IWW Congress de facto serves as a legislative power as it organizes and regulates relations between unions. Although there are no political parties there are 3 main factions. The industrial clique (dominant in the south), the agricultural clique (dominant in the north), and the small business clique (dominant in the cities).

    Socialist Republic of New Afrika

This is another one of the 3 explicitly socialist countries. Although as socially progressive as the PWR, it doesn’t have reserved seats in the legislature, instead opting for a model with the APSP as the leading partner in a single coalition with some other parties. It does use multi member districts. As in the PWR, the unionist party is banned. They have very bad relations with the ACR, and frequently take in slaves that manage to escape the country. They have mandatory gun classes for those above the age of 14.

    Republic of the Great Plains

This is a dominant party system by the APP, an agrarian Social Democratic party run by Agustus Ford. It is somewhat socially progressive. Its main opposition in parliament is the Unionist Party. Parties are elected with a first past the post system. 68% of the population are farmers, after a program of deurbanization following the war. Its sparse population is connected by a series of train lines, mostly for the transport of agricultural products.

    Texan State

Essentially the New Vegas. A libertarian paradise where regulations are practically nil. It is one of the richest post american countries, but one of the most unequal, having a Gini coefficient of 0.6, with billionaires dominating the government. It operates under a similar system to the turno in late 19th century Spain, where the main parties, the Libertarian Party, and the Constitution Party would be decided which one would be the government by the richest people in the country, most notably Elon Musk, who fled the West Coast after the PWR executed bothe Gates and Bezos after seizing their assets. It varies from Socially Progressive to Socially Conservative, but is far more often conservative.

    Appalachian Republic

It follows a system similar to Nepal and Guyana, where there are free and competitive elections, with the Patriot Party (a communist party) holds an almost supermajority, with the Unionist Party being the main opposition. It is generally socially progressive.

    New England Federation

This follows a system of proportional representation, with the DSNE (rebranded DSA) holding most of the seats and forming a coalition with some other parties, and the main opposition is the Unionist Party. After some finagling, the New England Federation got a seat on the UN Security Council, since it now controlled the city where the UN building was located. It is generally Socially Progressive, and has pretty bad relations with the Mid Atlantic Republic which still claims NYC.

    Mid-Atlantic Republic

This is run by Cuomo, who coopted the Working Family Party, turning it into a party of power, so he can effectively run the country. Its main opposition is the unionist party, which out of all the post american nations, has the highest number of seats. It is a pretty neoliberal country.

    Florida

This weirdly shaped country is still under De Santis, who formed the Floridian Party, a right wing party where he rules the country essentially however he wishes. It is a Socially Conservative country.

Sequoyah, Lakota, and the Seminole Republic

These are the native american majority states, with the left leaning Unified Native, Lakota, and Seminole Parties being dominant, and have very good relations with the PWR and the SRNA.
