I feel like I am being gaslit

the narrator to this interrogation video is saying the detectives are gonna use a variation of good cop-bad cop technique where the first detective basically bullies the suspect so they are more receptive to the next one.

But literally this lady is like...the nicest cop.
She keeps saying statements like "I am trying to help you" and stuff like she is her friend or "I don't believe you are a cold person." or trying to like....victim blame the person she killed to get on her side.

HOW THE HECK IS THIS BAD COP!!??

Actual cop interrogation technique is be nice - modern interrogation is just good cop/good cop. People sign confessions for shit they never did. They just be nice and sympathetic and try to get you to incriminate yourself. Know your rights, stay silent and also explicitely say you're asserting your right to silence (it can count as incriminating yourself unless you explicitly say you're asserting your right to not incriminate yourself and be silent) and demand a lawyer. Don't say nothing else but ask for a lawyer, identify yourself, assert your right to silence, and keep that flame of hatred alive for cops the entire time.

Super important to mention (though IANAL) that when you're in a police interrogation there's literally nothing you can say or do that will make your case better, all you can do is make it worse. Their only job is to build a case against you, if you say even the slightest detail that's inconsistent with the defense you put up in court it will be held against you. Even if you tell the truth and nothing but the truth they can make a mistake in their report and then it's your word against a cop's. Never talk to cops.

I think I saw the same video today! Is it the Jodi's Wrath one? I remember thinking the same thing when I saw it. I mean the cops are still :porky-happy: but they were being wayyyy too patient considering the amount of times she had switched her story.
