This would be straight up terrifying. That one that ignited after crashing into the tree a few months ago took something like 30,000 gallons of water to extinguish. I think it is only a matter of time until it happens
I thought it was a "D" fire, meaning it's a combustible metal fire. most fire suppression equipment is A-B-C compliant (A ordinary combustibles, B flammable liquids, C electrical).
source: I was certified for wildfire fighting and had the basics drilled into me. I can also look at the MSDS diamond and tell you right away how afraid of whatever is inside I am.

Its a recall not in the refund way but in the "we will send you a fix" kinda way. Apparently they can software-update it away, but the fact that it happened not only on basically every Tesla built in China but also the imports would mean that Tesla already has been selling the same cars to americans
Yep, once again people will confuse China's more stringent heath and safety policies for them being less healthy and safe.
The Australian show Rake literally had a whole season about a bunch of Austrian politicians doing sinophobia about a Chinese company buying their beloved "Aus Ripple" ice cream bar company. Then being told that they needed to sell because it turns out that the food coloring that had been used for 70 years was based on DDT and the Chinese wouldn't allow import unless it was produced domestically lol.
What are the odds that Tesla resells the cars unmodified to Americans?
I hope one loses its shit in one of Elon's dumb ass subway tunnels for cars.

And then a Space X rocket falls out of the sky for a perfect ClusterMusk trifecta.
Imagine paying money to be trapped in a concrete tube in a car that takes that much water to put out.

Such carelessness makes you a great candidate to work at Tesla!
Just kidding, you would be overqualified by this response alone.
They had to keep adding water because if they didn't douse the surrounding area, it would have set the forest on fire
That's correct, one of the articles said that the firefighters actually called Tesla on the phone to ask them how to put it out. Wild
They should have called in a DC 10 drop fire removedant on the wreck
