Virgil is handling this very badly. Everything about the initial accusation reeks of a 4chan put on, but his complete disappearance and silence is basically the worst thing he could do from a PR perspective, guilty or not. The fact that he hasn’t even denied it privately to his cohost makes it seem like there’s a very real chance that he’s at least done shit like what he’s being accused of in the past.
My first instinct is that he retained a lawyer and didn't want to say or do anything in the mean time while he figures out how to proceed, but who knows. his mental health may be in a really bad spot and he's having trouble even thinking right now nevermind addressing the situation, false or not. but i tend to give ppl the benefit of a doubt, so you may be right.
I mean, Virgil seems pretty clearly...uh, not neurotypical, and has had what seemed like some mental health issues in the past, when he disappeared after Bernie lost. So I think we probably need to allow a lot of margin for error in terms of how and when he responds, so to speak. But damn, this is indeed a bad look.
