Virgil is handling this very badly. Everything about the initial accusation reeks of a 4chan put on, but his complete disappearance and silence is basically the worst thing he could do from a PR perspective, guilty or not. The fact that he hasn’t even denied it privately to his cohost makes it seem like there’s a very real chance that he’s at least done shit like what he’s being accused of in the past.
My first instinct is that he retained a lawyer and didn't want to say or do anything in the mean time while he figures out how to proceed, but who knows. his mental health may be in a really bad spot and he's having trouble even thinking right now nevermind addressing the situation, false or not. but i tend to give ppl the benefit of a doubt, so you may be right.
I mean, Virgil seems pretty clearly...uh, not neurotypical, and has had what seemed like some mental health issues in the past, when he disappeared after Bernie lost. So I think we probably need to allow a lot of margin for error in terms of how and when he responds, so to speak. But damn, this is indeed a bad look.

Once again, the left shows that their handling of SA accusations is actually very reasonable and doesn't wreck nearly as much shit as chuds think it will.
failing to address this off the bat is such a bad look. you leave open so much speculation. it honestly just looks like hiding from responsibility that you fucked up. I'm not saying that is the case, but from an outside perspective looking in with scrutiny against Virgil, that's what it looks like to a lot of people
Allegations are allegations, jumping to defend someone accused before they even give a statement is a horrible look
You do realize known abusers will pressure or get women to parade in front of the media to say “X has never done something like this” only for the floodgates of accusations to open or more credible evidence to appear.
i kindly doubt it. but if more comes to light, i'll certainly let him hang with the rest of you.
