Jewish Currents staff discuss the ADL’s recent survey of American Jews about their understanding of antisemitism. What is the relationship between claims of antisemitism and discomfort, and what does it mean for a politics of feelings?
Not bad for a first episode. My big take-away was about the difference between anti-semitism as “discomfort of a specific Jewish person” and anti-semitism as “cultural or political institution which hurts Jewish people.”
And while the former may be increasing, the latter is in decline (in the US at least.)
