honestly don't get the big deal. a bunch of people who can't code are upset with him for supposedly being a bad coder, and then an actual coder on YouTube looked at his code and said "It's mediocre basically". just looks like a bunch of kiwifarms trollings, that surprisingly a wide swathe of losers got hoodwinked into amplifying.

When I first looked at that whole thing because I thought maybe I could learn a thing or two about bad practices I saw only one video that was actually decent, the rest is just an unimaginable amount of dipshits and trolls who want to pretend they know what they are talking about and it is realy infuriating, you know when one guy makes a joke so bad everyone just laughs along to avoid discomfort? That but some of them actualy think the joke is funny. As someone who is a casual Unity user unless you are actually familiar with C# and the engine you can eat shit and die on car fire, you have no idea what you are talking about because like it or not Unity sometimes forces you to do pretty unconventional hacks for simple solutions.

Not only that Unity is full of beginner traps that only got fixed with time and you wont know unless you go look for the same solution 2 years in the future.

His code is bad, he is very stubborn and refuses to learn proper game dev techniques etc all of that is pretty obvious, but then go look at some legacy code behind some corporate system worth 10 million USD or something then come back with "shit code". The whole "code review" for laughs is just the worst kind of toxic shit from people who are too powerless to "code review" their shitty US$60 AAA garbage that runs like shit so lets laugh at some random nerd instead.

I feel like this whole thing is just the worst form of punching down, there is literally no reason for you to give a shit let alone laugh about some random guy in a basement writing bad code.
