lots of items that aren't otherwise on amazon listed for 3x to 4x of their normal retail price, and if you buy it the marketplace merchant just orders from the big box store near your house for delivery to you and pockets a wad of money

I got a roll of tape out of the blue one day. A few weeks later, I see an email telling me that this object was worth 70 dollars and I needed to return it plus doing other items including an ipad or I would be charged.

The money was already taken out my account. After some searching, I found another account from another state attached to mine.

It took some time and a big run around before Amazon refunded me. However they never did a follow up.

It happened again a few weeks later and i just deleted my account after that. Best thing I ever could've done.

Amazon offers shipping services ("FBA") to eBay sellers. https://blog.edesk.com/resources/ebay-fulfillment-amazon-fba/

I saw the same printer I could buy used on craigslist for like $50 on Amazon used for like $400. And there is no way the packing/shipping adds up to $400.
