    You can block channels, but afaik the video has to recommended to you, and you need to be logged in on a computer:

    1. Go to your home screen

    2. Find any video from a channel you don't want to see anymore and click the ellipsis that appears to the bottom right of the thumbnail when you hover over

    3. Click the "Don't recommend channel" button

    4. (Optional) this still works if you filter the videos by the suggested genres at the top, it can help you find stuff you want to block

    5. Your algorithm is uncucked!
