Hexbear will soon reach one year of age. I think it's time to change some things. Like a forest fire can be good for an ecosystem, and the old society must be burned down to make room for the new one, it is time to ban some people. A lot of people.

Of course, they would be expected to make new accounts, but they should also make sure that they are not recognized as the same person.

Pros:

• It would protect users against doxxing. If you have multiple years of personal stories on a website, it is only a matter of effort to doxx you, no matter how vague the stories are.

• It would be a graceful end to bits that have gone on for too long. Other people would be free to pick up the bits that deserve to live on, as long as they are not under suspicion of being an alt.

• It would create a culture of caring less about your account and forum reputation.

• Maybe it would reduce the number of people being vaguely horny at each other in the megathread?

• It would generally reduce the insularity of this community, possibly leading to growth.

• Instead of a "banned" tag, we could have a "retired" or "honorably discharged" tag, which would be a good bit.

• It would be a funny contrast to reddit's embarrassing cake day thing.

• It would make some extremely online people here very mad, which would be funny to me personally.

• It would be a chance to take a healthy time off from this site.

Cons:

• Some extra work for mods, idk, who cares.

• Nothing else comes to mind.
