In July, I promised to begin a trial for fortnightly newsletters, as opposed to the monthly schedule from previously. Today was meant to be the day where the next newsletter was meant to be sent out, but I decided to delay it as I had been busy building a website via Ghost.org and I wanted to start posting there as soon as it was built, so there was minimum interruption in your access to Post Apathy content.
The post has been redacted, but the story was interesting enough.
Op signed up for ghost but his usage (not traffic) was outside what his tier allowed. He was given a week to stop breaking the rules or get upgraded. He angrily complained and found his site deleted along with an email saying he was being refunded.
I don't like defending corporations, but OP was looking for an argument. OP felt that they should have just prevented him from exceeding his limits, rather than giving him a free week at those levels. Anybody on Lemmy should understand that this is the reason to self host your own shit (or at least backup your work).
