I've been hanging out in various other places online lately, and one of them has people who clearly came from communities like stupidpol, redscare, and cumtown -- subs like that. Based on the things that get said, I'm still trying to understand whether chapo.chat users are actually supposed to be identity politics shills or class reductionists... lol.
The mod grooming thing has been mentioned very recently actually. The evidence was a link to a post on r/trueanon, which was itself a crosspost to a post on r/redscare, which had a screenshot of an anonymous burner account making a public post with the accusation on chapo.chat.
I have no idea what really happened, IF anything at all, but I have never seen any convincing evidence personally
That whole thing ended up essentially going nowhere, a big public accusation was made against an admin/mod here, the mod stepped down and vowed to provide any information necessary to the mod team investigation, the investigation apparently found that every bit of evidence presented in the public accusation could have been attained from public posts from the moderator, so the mod team requested that the accuser contact them in private to supply more information.
The accuser did not do this and offered confusing explanations as to why they did not contact the mod team, continued making public posts insulting the mod team for not having gotten rid of the moderator and so on, when those were deleted the accuser claimed that the mod team were silencing victims and eventually went completely quiet. Thats the end of it, the accusation could realistically have been a kiwifarms op kind of deal and when questioned the accuser did not cooperate but instead just threw shit around and insulted people for not having given a guilty verdict yet.

I don't know, I havent heard anything about that and I think in general speculating about it is sorta discouraged.
