having a comm called USA tells them that they're one country among others; not having it (using /c/politics etc.) tells them they're the default, reinforces the mindset that everything is centred on the USA unless otherwise specified
I approve of this if and only if anyone who posts in the USA comm gets a 🔻 over their profile picture.
we're all living in amerika
amerika ist wunderbar
I’m in solidarity with the underlying problem, and I’m a Burgerlander myself.
I would suggest 🍔-specific comms for the most problematic ones, like c/politics and c/news, and to update the sidebars, referring people to those alts for 🍔-specific posts.Edit: Has this issue not been litigated before? I ask because it just seems very likely that it would have been by now.
