Bo is BAE and, if not a comrade, then very close to it.
Also, im drawing a blank on that quote about capitalism recuperating revolutionary figures and need help finding it. The vodka doesn't help, but I hope my comrades can.
I refuse to believe that when he sings this:
Everything works together
The biggest elephant, the littlest fly
The gophers underground, the birds in the sky
And every single cricket, every fish in the sea
Gives what they can [looks meaningfully at the camera] and gets what they need
it was accidental. Incredibly based Bo
Did you miss the past right after that when the sock puppet went off about the alienation of workers from the message of production and exploitation of the global proletariat?
Oh no, I didn't. It's weird, but I consider this a stronger endorsement for communism than the latter. Saying workers gets screwed is a powerful critique of capitalism, of course, but it is not yet an endorsement for something better. To each according to their need is that next step after you've seen the inherent contradictions in the current world order. Or at least its how I feel about it.
Anyway I probably came across as im14andthisisdeep here, but I've just been raving about the special ever since I saw it couple of weeks ago.
I just meant that his choice if language is explicitly communist. No one except communists uses those terms in that way.
Is this the quote you are looking for?
“During the lifetime of great revolutionaries, the oppressing classes constantly hounded them, received their theories with the most savage malice, the most furious hatred and the most unscrupulous campaigns of lies and slander. After their death, attempts are made to convert them into harmless icons, to canonize them, so to say, and to hallow their names to a certain extent for the “consolation” of the oppressed classes and with the object of duping the latter, while at the same time robbing the revolutionary theory of its substance, blunting its revolutionary edge and vulgarizing it.”
