India nowadays seems messed up, but I don't think all is lost, far from it. Don't communists hold considerable influence in the south?

Whatever it is, even the worst of the Hindutvas seem to have some respect for the Soviets, as well, due to the history of friendship with India.

Long story short India is multilevel problem of an entire continent and 1000s of ethnicities. Also, India , Pakistan, Bangladesh and China is a quadrilateral problem. The entire subcontinent is a problem. Let's say when a leader like Imran khan came into Pakistan who really wanted to solve the kashmir issue and who also loved India (India was his biggest fan in old days) , he was removed from office and put in jail. Now idiots and pro Taliban groups are dealing inside Pakistan. Similarly in Bangladesh there is a fight between liberal only in sake Awami league which did nothing to protect Bangladeshi secularism is in clash with Islamist https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bangladesh_Nationalist_Party . US is trying to topple the sheikh hasina's government so Bangladesh couldn't allow Russia and China as financial partners. So, we have a strong Islamic extremism in culture in both neighbors of India while Indian Muslims who were pro socialist and communist somewhat slided down to Salafism with Wahabi money and Hajj pilgrimage. These simultaneously brought the sleeping hindutava extremism in 1985 and also because of the collapse of the USSR and people were demoralized with socialist projects and also Maoist extremism. So, with growing religious parties in the world, mainly muslim brotherhood which calls for strict code for civil Islam and political Islam, the sufism inside India and Indian subcontinent downsided. Just open a video from Pakistan in 1970s , people were much into music and dance but all got furiously put down with emergence of Taliban, political fundamental Islam and so on. I personally think we Indian subcontinent people have a common fate because we used to live in the same country for thousands of years. We have to prosper together and to have to find a common way. Along with thousands of years of casteism, feudalism in rural areas and bigotry of the highest kind. It will take maybe 100-500 years for a drastic change. But who knows if America and Russia can have a socialist successful revolution. It can inspire us and we can learn from each other.

EDIT : wikipedia is all wrong about those 2 parties

one thing which India has which earlier fascist countries like Germany didn't is the fact that its extremely diverse. BJP would have a very difficult time getting leftists out of Kerala/Tamil Nadu. South India in general.

North India is very brainwashed though sadly (with a few exceptions).
