Like, it's so bad. I knew this, but my family threw on a documentary and it's just... like I don't even know. Is there any way we're making it out of this? Given the Political situation, I just don't see how we're going to stay under 3 degrees Celsius. I'm at a loss, this is why I don't watch these things because it just makes it so hard to go on.
What is the correct path forward? How could we possibly influence global politics enough to make a change in this? Serious answers wanted this is just so :agony-deep:
The thing to focus on is that every degree, and subdegree of warming, matters. There's no "cut-off" point in which it makes no sense to fight. 3 degrees of warming is terrible, but 4 degrees is fucking worse, and 5 is like unimaginably bad. Every tiny bit does actually help save lives. Every effort to cut emissions, however small so long as it's systemic, is "worth it."
