Same, sorta. I think Deleuze at least has a positive outlook. Baudrillard is the real black hole.

Oh and good luck talking about this kind of stuff with anyone, basically. Trying to analyze society and culture in anything outside the extent of Enlightenment liberal individualism will just piss people off (like, really really piss them off) and they'll assume you're just trying to make them feel stupid.

Had a friend get pissed off because I kept dismissing his thought experiments as individualist abstractions that ignored material reality. He just ragequit the discussion because I wasn’t interested in constructing a beautiful logic model which could guide all people to enlightenment via fax and logik

Guy I knew who did this progressed into just melting his brain watching Mises Institute videos instead of even trying to think abstractly.

Now he sends me videos he wants me to watch that all consist of some utter libertarian stereotype equivocating some point about how actually Ayn Rand is to the left of FDR or something.

Libertarianism, as Stephen Molyneux likes to say, has stolen the productivity of an entire generation of young men

On top of that Bataille also massively influenced Foucault. Certainly worth a read though be prepared to accidentally stumble upon scat porn or self-mutilation while going through his work

The guy started as a smut writer and then later got into politics and philosophy. He has my favorite posting beef ever, on par with Marx and Stirner, where he feuded with the French absurdist art movement. They prominently claimed Marquis de Sade as an influence to which Bataille called them grifting posers because (paraphrasing here) “they didn’t even eat shit.” Absolutely wild dude. Started a cult and tried to get his cult friends to assassinate him as a Jesus figure in a poorly thought out plan to stop the rise of fascism

This is incredible. Definitely adding him to the list

Oh I’ve heard of the mass psychology of fascism. I’ll add that to the list

How far into this rabbit hole rhizome are you?

If you want a surprisingly clear explanation of the project of Anti-Oedipus read Eugene Holland's introduction to schizoanalysis. Its only about 150 pages.

I’ve read a lot of little bits and pieces in stuff about cybernetics. I know enough to understand the rhizome reference lol
