I’m only half way through the series, but it’s definitely my favorite series of the last 2 years. I would describe it as being part of a new genre: cringe-drama. I’ve seen a lot of cringe comedy, but a drama that uses that same toolkit is new to me
Deals with capitalism and colonialism in a way that verges on the heavy handed, but hits the mark so accurately and honestly that it manages to work anyway.
The scene in episode 3 where the Uber rich yuppie family is arguing about politics while the native Hawaiian dancers put on a show for them at their fancy hotel was just perfect.
