I dont know if Daddy did pay for her career to start, but she seems to have had some powerful people behind her. For a feminist she sure liked the idea of reducing the percentage other women took from their spotify streams in favour of her major label cut. Her music isnt that original. Country ballads that were created in the 90s have the same structure, harmonies, standard recording techniques - its paint by numbers music.
Even the electronic "Look what you made me do" track is very Depeche Mode and other synthpop influenced. Its like she's gone into a studio with a famous track in mind and said "give me this!!" I dont think that makes her a bad person or musician/singer/songwriter... it just makes her unoriginal.
Its not my style of music tbh, but I dont hate her or dislike her music tbh. I can tolerate it on the radio. Or in the soundtrack to a tv show.
