    Here’s the thing though: it takes very little retaliation to entrench an idea/ideology. Even a small insurrection could grow immensely if the messaging is somewhat valid. The US has turned itself into a permanent enemy in Iraq and Afghanistan TO ALL SIDES OF THE CONFLICT by intervening at all.

    I can imagine it would take a truly brutal and open crackdown on its own civilians (considering how the police already act like a hostile occupation if you’re poor in the US) to cause any widely growing and uncontrollable anti-US sentiment, but given how this country is always ready to jump to violence as the solution, this scenario more likely than it might seem at the surface.

      the BLM riots are a perfect example. if the media was not constantly manufacturing consent for a return to normality, and didn't stop reporting on police murders/abuses other than george floyd and breonna taylor, the riots would have kept growing. :parenti:
