So I'm working on my Trivia UI for my lewd Communist Milking Brainwash experience, as we are all often wont to do, right? And I thought I might be able to get away with using a UI kit from the asset store that I already own.

Expectations:

Show

The reality, unfortunately, is super jaggy.

Way more aliasing than this capture is showing. The white letters are bouncing up and down, and all the button borders look like I'm drawing diagonal lines with legos. Incredibly frustrating.

The black letters look good, at least, except for the thin line. I'll have to come up with something else for fill in the blanks.

The user will be stationary on one of the hospital beds, their head just in front of the pillow, so it's not that horrible if you're not moving around, but I'd really like something that isn't going to distract the user from their brainwashing. Or what's the point, right?

I'm going for a seated experience, so they're not gonna be laid back completely, but sitting/leaning back. As most VR porn is done that way. The ragdoll I've got on bed 2 isn't a good representation of what I'm planning to ship with. I'll either add another pillow, or figure out how to bend the hospital bed so it's sitting up. This is going to connect to a stroker toy (The Handy CW:sex toy) that most users have clamped to their desk or hold in their hand as far as I'm aware, so I'm planning around that.

    PROGRESS UPDATE!

What I ultimately had to do was change my answer button colors, Increase the "TV" size by 50% and pull it a bit closer. I also changed the font of the answers to the same as the question. As much as I liked the silly White with Black Outline, they were an aliasing nightmare and kept bouncing up and down.

When it comes to mobile VR, clashing colors, thin lines, sharp transitions, size, distance, and brightness are the enemy, I'm finding.

It's not perfect but it's good enough that I feel like I can move forward with writing the Trivia script today. I do still need to figure out a way of visually (or maybe audibly) indicating how well they're doing and how little time is left until each Trivia round ends. I plan on incorporating spoken encouragement and humiliation-esque quips in there at some point, so that may be a part of how I do it. Maybe an "LED" countdown next to the camera above the TV indicating how much time is left in each section? IDK, we'll see. I gotta check my CCP style guide. xi
