    lol the "white audiences wanted to dress up black people as women to humiliate them" is such a bad faith cop out peddled by people like tariq nasheed, (this is obvious by the fact that the vast majority of people who peddle this idea will continue to insist that black men being dressed up as women is still negative even if they do it themselves totally willingly, that femininity is simply inherently negative and they are being tricked by the white homos) it also completely ignores the reality that the most popular films that have done this for decades are tyler perry films which are overwhelmingly popular with black audiences. Like there are a billion legitimate grievances with white people's treatment of black people, this isn't one of them and it just muddies the water and gives room to reactionaries trying to divide and conquer

      Tyler Perry is overwhelmingly popular with church people, not all blacks. Also willingness in Hollywood is iffy, it's why Dave became legendary for walking away. Frankly i don't want to talk out of my ass about toxic masculinity, the boondocks is still my favorite show.
