The trick with a tiresome trend is to time it out. Usually, they don't last more than a day. Post about it while it's still fresh and you've only contributed to the phenomenon -- tempting others to do the funny thing and :post-hog: just to spite you. Post as though it isn't happening and it will expend itself soon enough.
