They look almost exactly like wild forest strawberries, I thought that those were strawberries on first glance. I would also call it a strawberry tree to be honest. Or just use the local name.
Whoa, it kinda does! I thought it was just old timey people not knowing what things look like and describing them in terms of other things with which they aren't familiar. They're just little spikey gremlins, huh.
