The rate of profit on traditional investments is so slim right now that the only way to squeeze more money out of the economy is creating crisis to exploit or gambling on some idiot being dumb enough to buy the nft you were dumb enough to buy.

Because the execs hear that nft's are all the rage + they cost nothing to make while bringing in stupid amounts of profit.
