Fuck all of these awful clowns that have been legitimizing NFTs. I hope they all die and go to hell for eternity.

Nah he made an account but he forgot the password. When he realized he coulda been a kajillionaire, he wrote a bunch of books about how bullshit it was that he lost his backup phrase. Or something like that it was a little hazy

TFW you forget your moms maiden name so you invent an entire political philosophy to cope. :deeper-sadness:

There's actually a quote from marx about during a crisis all capitalist speculation falls apart and they turn back to cold hard cash. So no, this is just the Capitalists gambling and making fake ass money to pretend they are producing anything of value

I had a friend who lost their discord account after their info got leaked on twitch. Hacker made a bunch of fraudulent charges. My friend had to wait weeks to get his account back.

Discord wouldn't remove the charges from his CC, so my friend called his bank to get the charges removed. Discord banned his account in response.

      Gj discord

for like a solid 2 months I would get constant messages from scammers tryna get my tf2 items, doing the same tactic over and over. every time I contacted discord support they straight up would say, "sorry we cant do anything." the company does not give a fuck about scammers at all.

Until the government replaces cash with crypto so they can get rid of cash. Wait shit where did this lathe come from?

I doubt you’ll ever have to take Bitcoin in particular seriously. It’ll be the abstractions that people build on top of these frameworks that will become the newspeak buzzwords for whatever hellish contraption they build

You're going to end up with a NFT passport stored on the blockchain. Have I gone on a rant about how government issued ID is a weapon of social control?

Matrix spaces are getting pretty solid. They really just need support for custom emotes and they’d be a decent drop-in replacement

Your Windows 20 NFT has expired. Please purchase another to continue.

It would be cool if everyone started using FOSS software to avoid crypto scams but I don't think that's going to happen.

    Fuckkk NFTs and discord.

To be honest Matrix still isn't a decent enough Discord replacement, even though I wish it was

It's not a drop-in replacement for Discord, but if Discord is a trashfire I'm not sure if drop-in replacement is the solution.

The social momentum of most game communities being discord’s is by far the largest barrier. If gamers were to adopt matrix en masse, the features would come pretty quickly. Basically “he’s electable if you vote for him”, but for drop-in audio and text chat

Can somebody explain to me why all these companies are pushing NFTs? I don't have the slightest idea what the purpose of all this bullshit is. Sincerely trying to understand.

Looking for specifics, not "because they have nerd brain" or "because capitalism" or whatever.

Because the execs hear that nft's are all the rage + they cost nothing to make while bringing in stupid amounts of profit.

    • fox [comrade/them]

They cost basically nothing to make and can be sold as speculative assets for enormous sums based on astroturfed hype only.

The rate of profit on traditional investments is so slim right now that the only way to squeeze more money out of the economy is creating crisis to exploit or gambling on some idiot being dumb enough to buy the nft you were dumb enough to buy.

There is controversy tonight after the website Reddit gave away a pinned front page post in a loot box. A user called “BaconCrypto88” has had the n-word pinned to Reddit’s front page for over 4 hours so far. When asked, CEO Steve Huffman stated “Sorry. Im sorry. Im trying to remove it.”

Steam gives you points when you buy stuff that you can only spend on cosmetics for your steam user profile. I've been using Steam since launch day and I do not know how to look at players user profiles.

Matrix desperately needs to literally just relaunch itself with even a modicum of thought for user experience and API quality. Right now it's so amateurish in both aspects that it's damn near impossible to get anyone I know to use it.

Funny, the move from Teamspeak to Discord annoyed me because Teamspeak is more structured and has cool features like speaking to specific channels with a keypress. Trying to coordinate two companies worth of players in eight platoons is impossible on discord but it's entirely possible on TS.

I have no idea what NFTs are and what Discord is trying to do. I'm just a fucking proletarian living in the Global South.
