I just quit my job at a super shady private school. I was teaching private piano and guitar lessons and being massively underpaid, but was like whatever it's stable. But on Friday the principle just started digging into me in such an abusive and disrespectful way that I had a moment of clarity.
I have a skill where I can work for myself. So fuck wage slavery I'm never working for a boss again.
Anyway if you want to learn guitar, piano, or bass pm me I'm super good at what I do:)
Ppl in LA we can do in person, everyone else is on the internet babyyyy!
Also I do have a reduced rate for broke comrades
Make youtube videos and monetize the hell out of it. I made a shitload of extremely low effort screencap voiceover tutorials for the company i work for a few years back and every once in a while I check out the channel and it has easily monetizeable traffic. Even if the youtube channel is just ultimately promo for your one-on-one lessons it's worth it, fucktons of people browse youtube all day.
Gonna save this post for when I relocate to LA soon. Maybe I'll find enough money to buy an instrument and get lessons like I want to lol
Yes! I wasted four years of my life going to college for music unfortunately but I do have a solid grasp on theory lol.
Oh! I've been trying to learn guitar! but I'm left handed and I only have a right-handed guitar, and I'm not going to even ask for you to try to help me there lol
I've been playing with the guitar upside down. It's been working so far but learning has been slow since I've had to figure out new ways to play chords, and also I'm really bad at it. But, I can play Do I Wanna Know by Arctic Monkeys and This part of this song from Jojo. Basically things that don't actually require chords.
I'm a jazz n classical trained punk rocker. I wasted years of my life in music school when I just wanted to rock. I have soft spots for punk, metal, jazz, and funk but I also have experience following students' interests (spent a lot of time teaching kids how to play tswift songs lol)
I've been playing for like 10 years but between college and work, I really let a lot of the skills I had go to waste. I've been trying to get back into classical and learn a bit of jazz/manuche with mixed results.
