is True Detective season 1, so I literally dropped what I was doing and listened to this 2 hour detailed discussion on it, and started downloading season 2 for a rewatch before the episode was over.

I would have listened to these two go much deeper on this, it's a really good exploration of the series. They make connections to organizations and syndicates that you'd need to be further down the rabbit hole to understand, but even their analysis about the show, and the making of it, is great.

It's worth keeping in mind tho that deep politics or whatever is an interesting distraction, and important to know about, but that Capital is quite happy for you to spend months obsessing about JFK or epstein instead of obsessing about your local politics and geopolitical events. Like the fucking unions in Bolivia talking about taking over factories :evo:

I picked up this pod from a rec thread in the TA sub, along with a few other weirdly religious/trad-tinged, but apparently leftist, conspiracy pods.

I think I made a post here about it a couple of months ago about them and vocal fry. I've listened to about 12 eps in total of these pods, one of them is just a total evangelical op, the others are ok, but wtf is with the social conservatism?

Only listened to one other episode of this pod and only jumped on this episode because of True Detective. From a quick googling a month back, it seems to have a long history and I'm gonna say they seem to be coming from the old school political/hollywood conspiracy tradition.

Most importantly, they also agreed that season one is the best thing ever so case closed 🧑‍⚖️
