And for those not in the US, how's your day/evening going?

My grandpa leaves the hospital today for hospice care at home, so that's a downer. But, on the bright side, I found my wallet this morning! So that's awesome! I thought it was lost since Saturday. Nope, it just fell out of my pants and behind one of my record shelves. Luckily my transit card and debit card stayed with me while it was missing so I wasn't high and dry.

Glad to hear you found your wallet, sorry to her about your grandpa

I'm okay. I'm quite tired after dealing with a new wave of nightmares the past few days, so I'd like them to pass. My brain is being difficult this time

Been there this past week, comrade. Hope things calm down for you. I've been trying to focus myself and get ahead on things at work since I spent the summer slacking.

Yeah, I'm stoked on finding the wallet so now I can go schedule my covid booster. I'm just assuming I'd need an ID for it, so happy I don't need to waste time at the DMV anymore.

Find a new job, if you can! I've been looking since the summer, but know exactly how you feel. Guess our CEO signed like a 10 year lease on our office, so he has a big hard on for making people work from there again. My team is in the office 2x a week now, which yeah, isn't so bad, but I'd rather be working remote with the pups.

I wouldn’t be the first at our shop that’s for sure

I feel like I am constantly settling, professionally, probably because I think I’m worth less than I am in reality. Probably some trauma to unpack there

I thought the same for a while, but then I looked up what market rates for my position were in my city, and I've been on a crusade for a higher salary for the past 6 years.

Yeah I mean I know how to do it right, it’s pretty common knowledge in a PMC context that to maximize earnings one should switch jobs every 2 years

It’s just finding the will to apply, and do all that bullshit that i would rather miss. I also am ok where I am in that the hours are reasonable and it pays enough so aside from more money for moneys sake it’s not clear what I’d be seeking by switching. I’m also not greedy. But then I see others with my same degree making multiples of what I do and it sort of makes me wonder what exactly is going on here

One of the most depressing things about capitalism is how every work day is basically exactly the same, it just completely monotonizes life. Of course the pandemic doesn’t help either

Shitty, I stepped in deer shit while raking leaves, so the city doesn't fine me. Deer apparently shit in little pellets all over the place, like rabbits but way bigger. It got smeared all over my shoe, kept thinking about all the diseases they carry, all the times I've watched them eat out of the garbage.

Then a bit later I have to use a public restroom and it's a repeat of deer and leaves, whoever it was had an accident, tried to clean it up, and well, they left spots. FML.
