RCMP have established an illegal "exclusion zone" at 28km on Gidimt'en land and are blocking Wet'suwet'en people, hereditary chiefs, food, medical supplies, and journalists.
Today, a Wet'suwet'en woman was blocked while trying to deliver heart medicine for a Cas Yikh elder.
Starting a gunfight with the RCMP would go poorly. The problem with states is that they can almost always bring in killers and gunmen in overwhelming numbers. And I don't think First Nations people have enough support in Canada to fight a guerilla war, the whites wouldn't support them. Causing a ruckus without resort to arms is probably the best strategic move right now.
