Will accept any aspect of history but looking especially for the just before the revolution era to present.
Just want to make sure I don’t start reading any far right/ CIA front books. My goal for 2022 is to really dive into their modern history so looking for good books to start on a variety of topics.
Haven't read the other two books in the series, but China From the 1911 Revolution to Liberation by Chesneaux, Le Barbier, and Bergère was pretty good imo. The one before goes from the Opium Wars to the 1911 Revolution and the one after goes from 1949-1976
