what i love about stuff like The Mandela Catalog is although its creator is obviously fairly new to analog horror,

    spoiler

no matter how amateur the content is, the underlying religious concept and its implication is fucking terrifying. the suggestion that the events of the bible were mostly true, but that everything went wrong somehow along the way is EXTREMELY unsettling on its own, as someone who was raised christian. and the idea that angels, and possibly even jesus, have somehow been replaced by powerful, unstoppable demonic imitators who have misled and tormented humanity for millennia is an absolutely perfect premise to me.

the creator is around my age, and i hope he continues this series and hones his skills because i see serious potential.

zoomers like to hit the random page button on TV tropes and create a new genre out of something that already exists. no hate tho sometimes they make cool stuff

It's basically a new style of making found footage horror videos that simulate old analog newscasts, public access television and emergency broadcasts, stuff like that.

If it sounds interesting to you, check out Local 58 on YouTube. It's the first and still the best imo.
