I'd compare my energy company options and review my internet plan too, but I already did that rerecently. So in the interests of being as dull and adulty as possible I will have to go and do the washing up and go to bed at a sensible time.
I recently went through all my direct debits and subscriptions, and cancelled everything I could possibly get away with. Some things I didn't really want to, but I've had to take a razor to the finances. Far from feeling accomplished and pleased about it, I felt strangely depressed and like a failure.
She's given me 18 years of good service so far (if we ignore the whole alternator incident) and will hopefully have quite a few more years. But she's not worth a lot now, so the insurance is not worth paying the premiums for. If I can manage to not cause an accident and write the car off for about 5 years I should have saved back as much in premiums as an accident claim would give me.
Mine's 17 years now and 120,000 k's. One small bollard and hail damage which was fixed superbly but still maybe it's time to trade her in for something safer.
Just a standard wild Friday night, reviewing my car insurance and downgrading it to third party. 🤣
You Adult you! Disgraceful.

That is such a humbling experience. A once state of the art vehicle reduced to a shitbox. Hugs.
