The Nabataeans were an ancient Arab people who inhabited northern Arabia and the southern Levant. Their most famous settlement was their assumed capital city of Raqmu, near modern-day Petra, in Jordan.

The Nabataeans were one of several nomadic Bedouin tribes that roamed the Arabian Desert in search of pasture and water for their herds. They emerged as a distinct civilization and political entity between the 4th and 2nd centuries BCE, with their kingdom centered around a loosely controlled trading network that brought considerable wealth and influence across the ancient world.

Described as fiercely independent by contemporary Greco-Roman accounts, the Nabataeans were annexed into the Roman Empire by Emperor Trajan in 106 CE. Nabataeans' individual culture, easily identified by their characteristic finely potted painted ceramics, was adopted into the larger Greco-Roman culture. They later converted to Christianity during the Later Roman Era. Jane Taylor describes them as "one of the most gifted peoples of the ancient world".

The languages they spoke were Nabataean Arabic (their native language) and Nabataean Aramaic (used for commercial and official purposes).

The Nabataean Kingdom

The Nabataean Kingdom was a political state of the Arab Nabataeans during classical antiquity. The Nabataean Kingdom controlled many of the trade routes of the region, amassing large wealth and drawing the envy of its neighbors. It stretched south along the Red Sea coast into the Hejaz, up as far north as Damascus, which it controlled for a short period (85–71 BC). Nabataea remained independent from the 4th century BC until it was annexed in AD 106 by the Roman Empire, which renamed it Arabia Petraea.

It's about to run out and I don't think it's being renewed (president joe manchin 🥰). beyond that I'm not too sure how to apply for it or if it was automatic - I don't think it was automatic, but not sure

Oh, thanks. Looks like they upped the child tax credit, and paid it monthly in advance as opposed to at tax time. I think, at least.
