You own your means of production, you get payed for your labor. Now who puts the price on your labor? That is up to some discussion, depending on the case unions, governments, or maybe just "the market" basically y'all just charge what you want and people might choose you or not.

If you work in something like plumbing, I'll go for unions or "the market". If you are an artist, just charge whatever you want.
